Mission statement

Our mission is to empower every Haitian to participate in business activities, regardless of their location, with minimal resources, and irrespective of their educational background, directly within their own communities.

A brief introduction to who we are

Dieuseul Lorgeat, founder

My name is Dieuseul Lorgeat, and I grew up in the Haitian district once known as Cité Soleil. Back then, the neighborhood was alive with countless small shops, a defining feature of Haitian communities. These businesses not only offered shop owners a way to make a living but also gave residents easy access to everyday essentials right in their own community.

More than forty years later, after spending five years at one of America’s largest retailers in roles ranging from packaging to delivery, I have found myself uniquely equipped for a new venture.

With the right skills and a clear understanding of community needs, I have chosen to revive the Haitian tradition of small neighborhood shops in the United States, leading to the creation of Granmache Marketplace.
